Rick Walker was born in Charlotte, N.C. on June 30, 1955. He studied the Martial Arts and became a professional kick-boxer, earning a second degree black-belt in Kung fu. He also studied Bruce Lee's personal style of Jeet-Kune-Do under Larry Hartsell. After accepting Christ, he felt called into the ministry and was ordained. Walker pastored two churches in central N.C. and became a missionary evangelist in 1991. Since 1997, he has served as the Founding President of International HELPS; an interdenominational, non-profit missionary organization which is currently working in thirty-two foreign countries.

Walker earned the Bachelor of Science in Missions and the Master of Arts in Evangelism and Church Growth from Columbia International University in Columbia, S.C.; the Master of Divinity in Pastor Counseling from Southeastern University in Wake Forest, N.C.; the Master of Science in Engineering Management from Lacrosse University in Bay St. Louis, MS.; the Doctor of Ministry in New Testament Theology and the Ph.D. in World Religions from Bethany Theological Seminary in Dothan, AL. During his missionary activities, Walker served as the Chair of the Department of Religion for the Asian Institute of Theology in Bangalore, India (1997) and as a professor at Beijing University, in Beijing and Shanghai University, in Shanghai, China (1999-2002). Walker is currently living in North Carolina and travels frequently throughout the United States and abroad for Missions Conferences and speaking engagements. He is currently writing Christian books in his spare time.
